In the quiet corners of our community, there are sisters who have recently embraced Islam, their hearts brimming with newfound faith. Yet they grapple with the desire to connect with the Quran lacking the resources and guidance to do so.
This Ramadan, we've introduced a weekly Quran learning session led by Sr Alina called Keys to the Quran to help these sisters learn the essential short surahs that every Muslim should know such as Fatiha and Ikhlas.
All of these sessions are being offered completely free to the community and are also open to those who may not be new to Islam but are seeking to connect with the Quran.
For these sisters, every verse memorized is a triumph.
Every surah learned is a step closer to a deeper connection withAllah, a connection that provides solace and strength in times of uncertainty and doubt.
Here's the story of a new convert sister who came into the class not knowing Surah Fatiha and found it difficult to make the correct sounds in Arabic. Within 1 week of daily reciting and recording her progress, she blossomed into confidence, mastering not just a few verses but the first five of Surah Fatiha. Alhamdulillah!
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) emphasized thesignificance of such noble endeavors when he said:
"The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it." Bukhari
