Eid Mubarak
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatahu
The M.E.C.C.A. Center follows the position of the four schools ofSunni Islam that adhere to the Blessed Sunnah that requires the physical sighting of the crescent moon to determine the beginning of every month. The last and final Messenger of Allah, the most beloved of Allah, Sayyiduna Muhammad (Allahs blessings and peace be upon him) has said, Begin your fast upon sighting [the crescent moon] and end your fast upon sighting [the next crescent].
Alhamdulilah, by the grace and mercy of Allah the Exalted, there have been reliable reports on the moon being sighted. Therefore, Wednesday, April 10th will be the 1st day of Shawwal.
Mubarak to all those who have fasted, all those who have left their beds for extra prayers, all those who have given in charity, all those who have protected their tongues from unlawful speech, and all those who have kindled the bonds of love with their families and friends.
Today is your day to rejoice! A day given to us from Allah the Exalted to celebrate His mercy and bounty!
We hope and pray that Allah, the Most Merciful, accepts all your worship and fasts that you did this holy month. May He elevate your status, bring you out of all hardships, andbless you with the best in this life and the next.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Ramadan programs and uplifted their spirits and the spirits of their fellow brothers and sisters by participating together with them. Thank you to those who supported inwhatever way you could by making du'a, sharing the message with family & friends, and by implementing the teachings.
Thank you to all those who donated! Despite everything going on in the world, you were generous in giving, mashaAllah. Ifyou wish to make a donation to our mission, you can do so below. May Allah reward you for it and increase you by much more than what you gave.
May your Eid be pleasant and enjoyable. May you reap the benefits of your striving in Ramadan for the rest of the year.
If you did not utilize this Ramadan as much as you would've liked to, may you become even more determined to draw nearer to Allah Almighty now as there is no despair. As long as you are alive, you have the golden opportunity to turn to our Creator. His Mercy is ALWAYS there!
May the Almighty One bless you and all of your loved ones. Ameen.
Zakat al Fitr Reminder
In either case, please do remember to pay your Zakat al fitr for each person in yourhousehold before the Eid prayer. If it is paid after the Eid prayer, it will be counted as sadaqa and not zakat al fitr.
This can be paid to your local mosque and to organizations like Islamic Relief, Penny Appeal, Muslim Aid, and more that distribute such funds. Please donote that Zakat al fitr is different from Zakat al maal (commonly known as zakat).
