SubhanAllah, we're nearing the end of Ramadan and we thank all of you who have tuned into our livestreams to learn more about Islam and to strengthen your connection with Allah the Exalted and the Qur'an. MECCA will announce the end of Ramadan and the arrival of Eid once reliable sightings of the moon have been reported. Follow along at Crescent Watch here.
It is most probable that today is the final day of fasting and Eid will enter tonight in shaa Allah.
As such, we will be tentatively holding our Eid Khutbah (sermon) with Ustadh Tariq Ameer to commemorate the day on Wednesday, April 10th from 11:00 am to 11:30am EDT via Youtube and Facebook.
You are more than welcome to attend and invite you to share with others.
Important Note
In the event that the moon is not sighted tonight, then Ramadan will continue for another day and Eid will then enter Wednesdaynight.
Zakat al Fitr Reminder
In either case, please do remember to pay your Zakat al fitr for each person in your household before the Eid prayer. If it ispaid after the Eid prayer, it will be counted as sadaqa and not zakat al fitr.
This can be paid to your local mosque and to organizations like Islamic Relief, Penny Appeal, Muslim Aid, and more that distribute such funds. Please do note that Zakat al fitr is different from Zakat almaal (commonly known as zakat).
