Jumuah Mubarak

Jumuah Mubarak to our dearbrothers and sisters! We want to reflect back upon Ustadh Tariq's beautiful Eid khutbah (sermon) this past Monday to ensure that its wise teachings resonate deeply within our minds, hearts, and limbs.

Ustadh Tariq shares a profound line of poetry about the essence of Eid: "Eid is not for the one who wears new clothes but for the one who increases in nearness and obedience toAllah."

Let's not be swept away by this dunya (worldly life) and forget about our servitude to our Creator. Ustadh illustrates how insignificant and temporary this dunya is in the sight of Allah the Exalted with the following hadith:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, If theworld were as worthy to Allah as the wing of a mosquito, an unbeliever would not even be given a sip of water.

Tirmidhi 2320

Ustadh reminds us how "our ultimate reality is not the life we're living here but our ultimate reality is how we arrive in the akhirah(afterlife**).**"

With Eid now behind us, our efforts should not cease; rather, they should serve as a catalyst and motivation for continued spiritual growth. We are still in the sacred and blessed month of Dhul Hijjah, with Muharram right around the corner. Eid is not the end of our striving but a reminder to persist in our submission to Allah theExalted.

Listen to the rest of this beautiful khutbah as Ustadh Tariq elaborates on submission and trust to the Almighty and its connection to the Hajj below.
