Just when you think the world cant get any crazier, it does. While we all have our own challenges, and our own lives to focus on, it is impossible not to be affected by world events, especially since our phones constantly beckon us to tune in to the 24-hour news cycle. We might feel better not knowing as much as we do aboutevents far from home, but these events affect us, and indeed, could morph into events very close to home at any time. Wars are a sad testimony to our collective failure to see everyone as equally human. But that is the stateof the world in which we find ourselves.
One result ofthe tumultuous times we are going through is that more people in the Western World are becoming interested in Islam. Whether this is due to a feeling of solidarity with the people in Gaza who are enduring a man-made cataclysm, or a rise in Islamophobia, or maybe just because they are looking for an eternal truth to grab hold of in this world of shattered dreams, it is undeniable that more and more people in our society are receptive to Islam, and areaccepting Islam as their deen.
Which means we need M.E.C.C.A. now more than ever.
M.E.C.C.A. is a trusted source of authentic Islamic knowledge with a track record of providing this knowledge to the community since 2006. Anyone who wants to get a clear understanding of Islam, unfiltered through any political agenda, canturn to M.E.C.C.A. to obtain that understanding. M.E.C.C.A. has an important role to play in shielding new Muslims and the Islamo-curious from incorrect and even poisonous ideologies and propaganda that masquerade as Islam online. Our flagship New Muslims Program has been there for new Muslims for almost twenty years and is recognized for its high quality.
We have been expanding our online outreach, so that those with the need will more easily find us.
We are bringing back our unique mentorship program, where any new Muslim who wants it can be paired with a mentor to help guide them. We are also bringing back our beginners Quran memorization course to help new Muslims learn to recite the short suras with tajweed in Ramadan. And were expanding our popular Living Islam program where anyone can ask anything they want about Islam and Muslims.
It is an honor to do the workwe do, assisting new Muslims to learn about their adopted religion in an environment that respects where they come from, and to provide anyone, no matter their background or current state, with an opportunity to enrich their lives though a deeper understanding of the Islamic faith.
