Muharram 1446
Assalam Alaikum,
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and it is one of the four sacred months of the year in Islam. The word "Muharram" means "forbidden," and the month is considered a time of peace and reflection. Fighting is traditionally forbidden during this month, just as it is during the other three sacred months (Dhul-Qi'dah, Dhul-Hijjah, and Rajab).
The prophet (pbuh) was asked about fasting the day of Ashura (10th of Muharram) and he said, It will expiate the sins of the past year. Please join MCC for Iftaar on Tuesday July 16th. Please bring your iftar and Register for this free event by clicking this link.
Al-Manar Weekend School is now opening registrations for Saturday and Sunday. The priority registration for the Returning Students will be on Sunday, August 4th, and for the New Students, on Sunday, August 18th, from 10 AM. to 1 PM. at MCC
Join us for the screening of "Where the Olive Trees Weep" at MCC! This is an outdoor event on Friday, July 19th, starting after Maghreb at 8:30 PM. The screening will provide a meaningful and educational experience, supporting the Palestinian humanitarian cause. Admission is free, and we welcome donations for MCC expansion and Islamic Relief for Gaza.
Where Olive Trees Weep offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. It explores themes of loss, trauma, and the quest for justice.
