Ashura is tomorrow, Tuesday July 16th, inshaa'Allah.
It is reported that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) said, "Fast the day of Ashura, for I anticipate that Allah will forgive (the sins of) the year before it." (Tirmidhi graded the hadith as authentic).
We encourage community members who are able to take benefit from this voluntary fast.
The day of Ashura also marks the martyrdom of the Prophet's (sal'Allahu alayhi wa ali wassalam) blessed grandson, Sayyidina Hussein (peace upon him). May we remember his sacrifice for our religion and inculcate something of his legacy in our lives, amin.
