Congregational Prayer During Solar Eclipse
"The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah... If you see anything happen to them, then pray and call upon Allah until you are relieved of that (the eclipse)." (Bukhari and Muslim)
Help us revive a Sunnah at 10:15 a.m. today and join us for congregational worship during this unique worldwide event that coincides with the blessed last days of Ramadan.
The Prophet (PBUH) would engage in worship in the masjid during a solar eclipse. This is rare opportunity in the blessed month of Ramadan.
Monday, April 8 | 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. | MCC Prayer Hall | Join us in-person
Sidi Quran Hodge will lead us in four cycles of congregational solar eclipse prayer (Salat al-Kusoof) from 10:15 am to 10:45 a.m. He will then lead a Dua from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
We will then have individual Dhikr & Naseeha from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
We welcome you and your family to come early and stay afterward to perform additional worship.
For how to perform this prayer, please have a look here.
According to NASA, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.
