July Summer Camps

Children's Life Skills Camp

For Children Ages 5-12: Starting Monday, July 8, Sr. Emira Mustafa will lead a four-week Life Skills Summer Camp, where children will engage in weekly themes ranging from financial literacy to health and fitness, cooking classes, and overcoming obstacles through art around the world.

Your child can expect to have fun while learning these important life skills. We will have crafts, games, stories, guest speakers, and more!

The camp will be held Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Qur'an, Fitness, & Speech Summer Camp

For Boys Ages 13-18: Starting Monday, July 8, Ustadh Haseeb Sadat and Qari Fardin Osmani lead a four-week summer camp to enrich and engage adolescent boys while strengthening their Islamic identity.

The theme of this camp is to build strong Muslim men who know the Deen and develop leadership skills in them to prepare them for real-world challenges.

The camp will be held Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Arabic Calligraphy Camp

For Children & Adults 13+: Starting Tuesday, July 9, join a six-week calligraphy summer camp with Calligrapher Zubair Simab for beginner and intermediate students to learn to write each Arabic letter in the popular Thuluth writing style and to prep pen, paper, and ink.

A $35 calligraphy kit will be available for purchase during the first class session.

This camp will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Kids & Youth Islamic Camp

For Boys & Girls Ages 5-16: Starting Monday, July 22, join former professional basketball player Indira Kaljo over two weeks this month for a summer camp that will strengthen your childs Deen through play, education, arts, and physical activities. 

We will have the Names of Allah series, outdoor games, a nature activity, arts and crafts, sports, snacks, and more!

This camp will be held Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Monthly Qur'an Khatam & Fajr Gathering

On the first Sunday of each month, read a Juz of the Qur'an before (optional) and then join us for Fajr in the congregation, Zikr, Quran Khatam dua, and collective community dua. Then, have breakfast with the community. 14 Juz remaining. Sign up to read a Juz here.

These community members are asking you for the greatest gift a person can give to another: a sincere prayer by name.

  • Nilofer Qazen (San Ramon): Her mother, Mariyam Bibi Beg, passed away on Saturday.
  • Ahmad Sameer (Dublin): His friend, Nolan Siri, is going through a hard time. His best friend passed away recently.
  • Samir SAMIR (Dublin): His daughter, Maryam Usebbane, is suffering from Autism and is unable to speak.
  • Abdul Popal (Danville): His mother, Fouzia Popal, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Volunteers Needed

Young Muslimahs Summer Camp

The Young Muslimahs Summer Camp offered by The Rahmah Foundation is coming up in July, and we are currently looking for female volunteers/teacher assistants to help with the camp.

We are looking for:

 One volunteer for the Frogs and Bunnies group. The volunteer can be as young as 13 and have experience with Pre-K/K grade levels.
 One volunteer for the 1-5th slot to help fund the Islamic Station. The preference is 16+ years old.
 Two assistants for the 6th through 8th grade group. Age preference is 18+
 One assistant for the 9th through 12th grade group. Age preference is 20+

Survey for Support Group for Family Caregivers @ MCC

To increase awareness and programming for aging Muslims, the Caregiver Support team plans to start a monthly support group for family caregivers of older adults at MCC East Bay in the Fall of '24.

The team would like to gauge interest before they can plan these meetings. Please fill out the survey here.

Anyone who is a caretaker for an aging family member (60+) is welcome to fill out the survey.

In June, Sr. Indira Kaljo organized and supervised a delightful three-week summer camp tailored for children between the ages of 5 and 16. The camp provided engaging opportunities for the children to learn about Deen through playful activities, educational sessions, artistic expression, and physical exercises.

After-School Qur'an Classes

Registration is now open

MCC's Qur'an program accommodates learners from beginner to Hifz and restarts this Fall, both in-person and online. Classes start Sept. 3, 2024.

The MCC Quran program team works hard each day to bring you Quran classes taught by professional educators in order to bring the Book of Allah into your life, as well as into the lives of your children.

After-School Arabic Classes

Registration is now open

For Children Ages 5 to 12: Enrollment for our after-school Arabic classes is now open for Fall '24 beginning this September.

This after-school program teaches kids to use Arabic effectively for reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation.

Registration is first come, first served. Returning parents receive priority for this popular program.
