Voting and Influence
Dear MCC Member:
Assalamu alaikum.
This is to advise you that MCC is taking an initiative to promote voting by Muslims living in our area, starting with the upcoming November elections.
We keep hearing that only a smaller percentage of Muslims vote compared to members of other communities. This negligence in voting reduces our influence on the candidates running in the elections and our participation in the selection of our leaders who make decisions for us.
Towards increasing the Muslim participation, MCCs Civic Engagement Committee, and particularly the Voter Engagement Group, may be contacting you to make sure that you and others in your household are registered to vote. They will also facilitate your voting by providing you with all the relevant information of the dates and locations to vote. They may even provide you a comparison of the candidates running for various offices on issues of interest to our community so that you can make informed decisions in your voting.
Your cooperation in this effort will be of benefit to us all and will be greatly appreciated.
