THIS WEEKEND
The Day of Arafah is this Saturday June 15th. Due to this we will not be having the weekly BBQ this Saturday and will resume next Saturday iA.
It is a recommended Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day since the Prophet (PBUH) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah, so he said:
"It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year." (Muslim)

MIC Quran Program
Registration Now Open
$40 Per Month // Ages 7-16
Program is $40 per month. Students will meet twice per week for one hour each day. Sessions available to select from are Monday & Wednesday, Tuesday & Thursday, or Saturday & Sunday.
Sessions will include lessons on Quran Reading & Memorization, Islamic Studies, and Du'a Memorization.

RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS

Every Saturday and Sunday at 3PM
$75/Month
Sign up for professionally instructed karate lessons hosted at MIC every Saturday and Sunday at 3PM at the Manarah Building resuming this weekend. Sponsorships are available if needed.

The Memphis Islamic Center (MIC) is seeking nominations for seats on the Board of Trustees. While nomination does not automatically guarantee a seat on the MIC Board of Trustees, we are committed to thoroughly reviewing all nominations and selecting the best candidates according to MIC's current needs.
Who can nominate?
Any current member of the greater Memphis area Muslim community can nominate for a position on the Board of MIC.
Who is eligible for MIC Board?

Must be a Sunni Muslim who attests to the five pillars of Islam;
-
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old;
-
Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident;
-
Must be a resident of the Greater Memphis area for at least twelve (12) months;
-
Must believe in the vision and mission of the Corporation as defined by the Board in the Corporation's organizational documents;
-
Must have been an active donor in good standing and/or must have been an active volunteer for the Corporation in the past twelve (12) months;
-
Must speak fluent English,
-
Must not be the subject of pending criminal proceedings of any sort or have a past criminal record that would adversely affect the Corporation as an organization or its employees, trustees, officers, or other constituents; and
-
Must not have been found guilty of major Islamic impropriety, as determined by the religious leadership in consultation with the existing Board of Trustees.
When is the nomination deadline?
The nomination deadline is Saturday June 15th at 11:59 PM.
How can I submit my nomination?
- First consult the nominee to make sure she or he agrees.
- Then verify that she or he meets the criteria outlined above.
- Fill out the form.
