This month, CelebrateMercy is mobilizing Muslims worldwide to pledge to recite a lot of salawat upon the Prophet in Rabi al-Awwal. Organizations that get the most salawat pledges - by October 4 - can win up to $20,000 in prizes (1st place wins $10K!).

WHY SEND SALAWAT?
There are countless blessings and benefits when we ask Allah to send salawat - peace and blessings - upon the Prophet Muhammad . Allah commands us in the Quran (33:56) to send salawat upon him. The Prophet taught us that whenever someone asks Allah to send him one blessing, Allah blesses that person 10 times and forgives 10 sins. The Prophet also directly responds to our salams, asking Allah to bless us with peace and mercy, bringing tranquility to our hearts.
