Permitted/Not Allowed Parking Areas for MCA

Dear MCA Community ,

Alhamdulillah, our community is growing, and attendance at the mosque is increasing, especially on Fridays. However, we have been alerted to ongoing serious parking issues that are causing frustration in our parking lot and in the lots of our neighboring buildings. Some of our neighbors have even taken photos as evidence of illegal parking and have formally requested that we address this problem immediately before it escalates further.

In particular, our neighbors at the *Turner Senior Center* have alerted us that they will be *actively ticketing* and may *tow any unauthorized vehicles* parked in their parking lot at the owners expense.

To help ease this issue, we now offer three Friday prayer times (12pm, 1pm, 2pm) to accommodate our growing community. We urge everyone to attend at a time that helps reduce congestion and to only park in permitted areas.

*Permitted Parking:*

*MCA parking lot (in designated parking spaces only; absolutely NO double-parking or parking in designated fire lanes)

*Willowtree Apartments' designated area next to the tennis courts (see attached map for permitted blue-lined spaces)

*street parking on Traverwood Dr

*Not Allowed:*

*Turner Senior Center Nexus (strictly prohibited)
*Traverwood office building parking lots (see map)
*Oak Cliff Apartments  parking lot

Starting this *Friday 1/31/2025*, UM campus police will be actively ticketing and towing vehicles that obstruct traffic or park illegally in the Turner Senior Center lot and adjacent UM office buildings housed in Traverwood office buildings. Please be mindful to avoid any violations.

We ask for everyones cooperation in respecting our neighbors, avoiding unnecessary fines or towing, and maintaining positive relationships with our neighbors.
