I have noticed during my many years of studying and teaching Arabic that it is well-known that extensive reading of texts on diverse topics is sufficient to help students observe, or rather become familiar with, a wide range of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.

It is also well-known that many Arabic students focus exclusively on grammar and do not read sufficiently because the textbooks themselves are narrowly focused on grammar rules, which results in students being left with an abstract understanding of grammar and an almost complete inability to read even the most basic texts.
