As we embrace the joyous occasion of Eid, we extend our heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the entire Yaseen Foundation community. "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, there is no deity except Allah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, and to Allah belongs all praise."
The festivities of Muslims were not legislated merely for joy, play, and visiting each other, but they are among the rituals of the religion and its acts of worship. It is Sunnah for Muslims to demonstrate them and announce them.
Furthermore, there is no contradiction between showing joy during a festival and feeling pain for what has afflicted the Muslims, and sorrow for their condition; because a Muslim shows his joy for the festival, demonstrating his religion, and elevating its status, while he also feels sadness for the sorrows of the Muslims.
Thus, a Muslim should combine the two: demonstrating the rituals of the religion and its acts of worship, like the Eid prayer and showing some joy and happiness with it, and at the same time feeling sad for what has afflicted his brothers and feeling pain for their sorrows.
The Yaseen Foundation takes pride in fostering a community where every festival, every gathering, is an occasion to strengthen our bonds, share our joys, and reaffirm our commitment to our shared beliefs. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, may Allah have mercy on him, beautifully captured this sentiment by noting that expressing joy during these times is a hallmark of our religion.
Imam Ahmad narrated (24334) from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, she said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said on that day meaning the day the Abyssinians were playing in the mosque: "Let the Jews know that there is leniency in our religion; I have been sent with an easy and simple Hanifiyah (monotheism)."'
May Allah bring you and your loved ones peace, joy, and prosperity. We pray to Allah to aid our oppressed brothers and sisters wherever they may be, especially in Gaza, and to fulfill what He has promised them by saving them and giving them support. Ameen ya rab Ameen
