🌙 Muharram: A New Year, A New Opportunity (1446)
The Prophet said: Observe the fast of shr and oppose the Jews by fasting a day before it or after it (Musnad Ahmed)
Alhamdulillah, Allah has allowed us to witness yet another new Islamic year. We pray to Allah that this year is filled with barakah for all of us. Here are a few actions we can perform during the month of Muharram:
1. Fasting - Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhuma) reports: I did not see Rasulullah anxiously await the fast of any virtuous day more than the day of shr. (Bukhari)
9th and 10th of Muharram corresponds to the 15th and 16th of July.
2. Spending - Rasulullah said: Whoever expands his expenditure on his family on the day of shr, Allah will inflate his sustenance for the rest of that year (Shuabul Iman)
3. Seeking forgiveness - Rasulullah said: In the month of Muharram there is a day in which Allah forgave a nation (Banu Israaeel) and He will forgive others on this day (as well). (Tirmidhi)
