Hiring Young Adult Teachers for Summer Camp

Assalamu Alaykum
Weekend Islamic School is hiring *young adults* as teachers for their upcoming Summer Camp

We intend to provide a safe, engaging Islamic environment for the summer camp to promote a strong sense of identity, observation, acceptance, and expression.

This camp will offer age appropriate activities that enable children to discover and enhance their skills.

If you see yourself embody that vision please consider applying for this paid position.

Criteria:
- Available between Jun 9th Jul 18th
- Age between 16 25
- Open to males and females
- Loves working with children
- Creative & Fun!
Training will be provided.
Walk-in interviews will be held at the Masjid AlSalam Gym on Friday April 26th 3pm 8pm and Sunday April 28th 11am 1pm.

MPH Expansion Update

Alhamdulillah, the construction for the Multipurpose Hall Expansion project has Completed & community will be able to access in a few weeks, InshaAllah.

The plan is to open access to the new expansion area from June, 2024. Some key highlights of this expansion project:
- A lounge for our Senior Champions
- A hangout area for our Sister Champions
- A Conference Room for cross functional usage
- A warming kitchen
- Expanded storage space.

Register for Spring Interfaith Dialogue Meals 2024

The following message is shared by the Spring Area Interfaith Council. This event is not organized by ISGH but ISGH members are encouraged to participate if they are able.

Talking face-to-face with your neighbors of different faiths over a shared meal is one of the best ways to increase understanding among people. Seven families belonging to the Spring Interfaith Council have offered to provide a simple meal in their homes on different days and times during Dialogue Week, May 12-18. Each home will welcome 8 to 12 guests of a diverse range of faith traditions. A moderator will be present at each home to guide discussion on religious topics in a safe and respectful manner.

Register now, as some of the dates have reached capacity:

Host 3, Wed., 5/16, 6:30pm (accepting women only)

Host 4 Thurs., 5/16, 6:30pm

Host 5, Fri., 5/17, 11:30am (full)

Host 7, Sat., 5/18, 2:00pm (full)

Reserve your spot by emailing [email protected] . Indicate all of the dates on which you could participate. For each participant who will attend the meal, please include their name and e-mail address, plus indicate their faith tradition (or no faith tradition) so that we can provide a diverse mix of participants for each conversation. When the groups have been set up, you will receive an email providing you with the name and address of your host.

We hope you will participate in this important community-building event.
