From NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR MENTAL WELLBEING

When: Saturday and Sunday, January 20th & 21st, 10:00 a.m.1:30 p.m.

What: A person you know could be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem. Learn an action plan to help. You are more likely to encounter someone in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Learn how to help a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor in need. Anyone 18 and older can take mental health first aid. This free training is for individuals who live or work in the County of Santa Clara. We reserve the right to reschedule if there are less than 5 registrants.

Soul Food & Game Night

When: Saturday, Feb. 3, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

What: Join us for a night of delicious halal soul food and educational games. RSVP by January 28 to guarantee tickets. Soul food includes foods such as bbq, pies, fried fish, and more. This night honors the contributions and culture of the first to practice Islam in America; over 30% of Africans who survived slavery in the Americas were Muslim.
