MAPS Seattle Operating Committee (MSOC) 2024-26
Assalamu Alaikum / Peace Be Upon You
Alhamdulillah, MAPS Seattle celebrates two and a half years of remarkable growth! We've expanded programs, attendance, and facilities, leasing the entire 2nd floor. This success is attributed to Allah's blessings followed by the dedication of our MAPS Seattle Operating Committee (MSOC).
We established the first MSOC in 2022 with five members. Completing their two-year term, three members will continue, joined by two new additions: Sr. Nafisa Muzaffar and Sr. Kouthar Waled.
Please welcome and thank our committed leaders when visiting MAPS Seattle. This new MSOC will be serving until August 2026, inshaAllah.
We're grateful for these young professionals' leadership and commitment. May Allah grant them guidance, wisdom, and patience to fulfill their responsibilities.

MSOC Treasurer
Sr. Nafisa Muzaffar has been a proud member of our Seattle community for over a decade. She shares the joy many of us feel at having a dedicated mosque space where we can pray and connect with one another at any time of day. Over the years, she has prayed alongside other community members in various church rooms generously shared by others, making the establishment of our own masjid space especially meaningful. Nafisa has always appreciated the inclusivity of our community, and is particularly inspired by the way our community values doing good with intention, placing it above ego. Professionally, Nafisa works in tech at Amazon.

Sr. Kouthar Waled is a recent transplant to Seattle, hailing from Canada two years ago. She ramped up her community involvement soon after moving to Seattle and is a pillar of the community. A masjid regular, she runs the Night at the Masjid qiyaam events, helped coordinate Ramadan programming this past Ramadan, and has brought many home-made cookies to halaqas. Kouthar is currently a product designer at Microsoft, and a student at Qalam seminary.
