MAJOR Milestones Reached – Pre-Construction Planning Underway!
Nueces Mosque Reconstruction Update

Dear Nueces Family,
Since last Ramadan, weve been working diligently behind the scenes on theNueces Mosque Reconstruction Project.With your duas, support, and patience, weve made meaningful progress and today, were thrilled to sharethree major updates:
SITE PLAN APPROVED!
Alhamdulillah, after 18 months of design, planning, and working closely with our architects, engineers, and the City of Austin,**the Site Plan for the new Nueces Mosque has been officially approved,**pending two minor administrative steps:
- Recording of the license agreement
- Payment of permitting fees
What does this mean for the project?
The Site Plan approval is one of the most critical milestones in any construction project. It means the City of Austin has officially signed off on our development plans, clearing the way for us to apply for building permits then inshAllah begin construction.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR SELECTED
After a careful search led by our Design and Construction Advisory Committees, weve officially selected a General Contractor (GC) to lead the construction phase.
The GC is already involved in pre-construction planning as we finalize contract details. This is important to ensure we stay on track and work alongside experienced, trusted professionals.
FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Our goal is to raise**$1.5 million in cash by the end of this year.Reaching this milestone will allow us to break ground on time and open the new Nueces Mosque byFall 2027,**InshaAllah.
To help get there, we are launching regional campaigns across Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio.
Now is the time for our community, both local and beyond, to come together and give generously.

This isnt just a building. Its a place where students will find peace between classes where strangers become brothers and sisters where young Muslims will grow, worship, and feel at home.
