Hope, Gratitude, and Preparation Welcoming Shaban & Ramadan

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If Allh should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allh let the believers rely.(Quran 3:160)

Alhamdulillah, as we step into the blessed month of Shaban, we do so with hearts filled with hope and gratitude. The recent ceasefire has brought a moment of relief to our beloved brothers and sisters in Gaza, who have endured unimaginable suffering. Our prayers remain steadfast for their healing, security, and lasting justice. May Allah (SWT) grant them peace and ease their burdens. Ameen.

Shaban serves as a beautiful reminder that Ramadan is just around the corner. This sacred month is a time for purification, reflection, and spiritual renewal. The Prophet Muhammad placed great emphasis on Shaban, often fasting during its days to prepare for Ramadan. It is a month when our deeds are raised to Allah (SWT), making it the perfect time to renew our intentions and strengthen our connection with Him.

Let us use this month to prepare our hearts, minds, and souls for Ramadan. May Allah (SWT) grant us the ability to welcome this blessed month with pure hearts, unwavering faith, and a steadfast commitment to His worship.

As we prepare for Ramadan, we also take a moment to reflect on the importance of unity and justice. On January 29th, we observed the National Day of Remembrance of the Qubec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia. This day serves as a solemn reminder of the six innocent lives lost and the ongoing impact of Islamophobia on our communities. We honor the victims, stand with their families, and reaffirm our commitment to combating hatred and fostering a society built on peace, respect, and understanding.

Ramadan is a month of resilience, compassion, and deep spiritual commitment. It is a time to embody the values of patience, charity, and community, which align closely with the principles of respect and understanding that we strive to uphold in our fight against Islamophobia.

Let us enter Shaban with gratitude, prepare for Ramadan with sincerity, and continue to stand together in solidarity, faith, and hope.

Wassalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

Your brother,

Abdullatif Bakbak

Remembering National Day of Remembrance of the Qubec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia

This January, we honour the memory of the six innocent lives lost in the tragic Qubec City mosque attack on January 29, 2017. These individuals were pillars of their families and communities, actively contributing to Qubec and Canadian society. The tragedy left 17 orphans and countless hearts grieving.

We extend our enduring respect and support to the families, loved ones, and the Qubec City mosque community. We pray to our Creator to grant His mercy to our Quebec martyrs.

In the Footsteps of the Prophet

Shaban is a month of preparation forRamadan, a time to review the Quran.

Usma b. Zayd (RA) narrated I asked the Prophet , Why is it that you fast more in Shaban than any other month? The Prophet replied, **That is a month neglected by the people between Rajab andRamadan, and it is a month in which ones deeds are raised to the Lord of the Worlds, so I love for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.**Sunan al-Nas
