Dear Brothers and Sisters,
While the Islamic Society of Boston is one of the largest Muslim organizations, it remains at its heart a volunteer-led organization. A great way for you to help lead ISB is to join one of our many committees, sharing your skills, interests and time to help transform your community. Committees are the backbone of the organization and are the primary mechanism to drive programs and services at ISB to ensure they meet your and your family's needs. Why join? Service to society is central to our identity:
You are the best nation raised up [for the benefit of] mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. (3:110)
As committee members, you can focus on your particular skill and passion to:
- Oversee current programs, striving for excellence
- **Create new programs with broad impact,**with help from our staff and Board volunteers.
- Set future directionfor ISB to meet evolving needs
- **Share your unique skills,**build friendships, teach and learn how to lead collaboratively
- Committee members are often great candidatesto join the Board of Directors
Today ISB is helping raising the level of our spiritual education, building programs that connect with our children, winning grant funding to launch affordable sports programs, tutoring and mentoring, inviting leading scholars and partner organizations to collaborate, bringing mental health resources into the community, improve our family and newlywed counseling, building out our weekend school and expand our interfaith relationships, and planning expansions for Cambridge and completing the ISBCC. But we need more of your help, including technology, legal and HR professionals.
