Shared Stories and
Shared Roots.
This past Friday, our community came together for a special Teach-In led by Br. Rajib Ahmed, held in response to the recent military tensions between India and Pakistan. The event aimed to foster understanding, reflection, and unity during a time of heightened emotions.
Br. Rajib delivered an engaging talk covering the rich history of India, including its provinces, culture, and significant historical developments. He encouraged participation by asking thought-provoking questions—rewarding correct answers with chocolate, which added a fun and interactive touch!
The discussion afterward touched on some deep and meaningful topics, including the partition and how its lasting impact can play a powerful role in building understanding between communities.
It was heartening to see many people joined in, sharing their thoughts and reflecting on the many similarities between India and Pakistan.
Overall, it was a powerful reminder of how much we can learn from one another when we come together with open hearts and minds. Looking forward to more events like this in the future!
CAIR-CT Advocacy Day 2025
Two students from FVAMC Academy, Rumanah Shaikh and Rayya Baghdadi, attended the 10th Annual National Muslim Advocacy Day on April 28–29, 2025, in Washington, D.C., as part of the CAIR-CT delegation.
CAIR-CT takes part in National Muslim Advocacy Day each year to help Muslim youth and community members speak directly with lawmakers about issues that affect them. This effort strengthens civic engagement and makes sure the voices of Connecticut Muslims are heard in government.
The event is a valuable chance for youth to build leadership skills, learn how to advocate, and gain confidence by meeting with members of Congress. It helps prepare them to be strong, active voices in their communities and in the democratic process.
Look out for the next opportunity to join CairCT for National Muslim Advocacy Day!
