Ground Breaking Ceremony, Parking & Extension Committee Updates

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

We hope and pray everyone is doing well InshahAllah.  We wanted to share some additional information and reminders with regards to the Extension Project that is set to initiate construction within the next 2 - 3 weeks InshahAllah.

Ground Breaking Ceremony: 

Firstly, we have our Groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Sunday June 1st at 2pm InshahAllah and we encourage all to attend and in order to organize and prepare for all in attendance, we are asking that you register so that we may have a good understanding as to the overall numbers.  There is no cost to attend of course and food, snacks and beverages will be provided.  Please click the link below to complete your registration.

Parking: 

Once the construction begins, parking will be available on site but will be extremely reduced as the back parking lot and the grass area where the swing set is, will be completely fenced off as this is where the construction will be occurring.  We are planning to have shuttle service available to bring people to the Mosque for Friday Prayers from the Cataraqui Arena.  You will be able to park there and then get a shuttle ride to and from the Mosque.  There will be parking management on site directing traffic to the identified parking areas but if you are planning on driving to the Mosque, please consider carpooling and arrive as early as possible because once we are at capacity, the parking lot will be closed.  You will then need to consider attending the second Jumah Prayers or also consider alternate locations around the City as has been communicated and we will continue to communicate the additional locations with you.
 

Extension Project Management and Committee Updates:

The Extension Committee has made some changes as certain members have vacated the committee for various reasons or have taken on different executive roles with ISK directly.  The Committee and Project Management framework and the various community members working on the project, are listed below.  We have hired Br. Taoufik Mounib as our own in house Project Manager to work with the Construction Management Team at Bourgon Construction as well as with our Architectural Design Team at S&Z Arhcitects. May Allah SWT make things easy for everyone as we navigate this critical construction phase of the project InshahAllah.
