وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَـٰبٌۭ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ٦٢

بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلٌۭ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ ٦٣

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ ٦٤

لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ ٦٥

قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ ٦٦

مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرًۭا تَهْجُرُونَ ٦٧

We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear- We have a Record that tells the truth- they will not be wronged. But the disbelievers’ hearts are steeped [in ignorance of ] all this; and there are other things besides this that they do. When We bring Our punishment on those corrupted with wealth, they will cry for help: ‘Do not cry out today: you will get no help from Us. Time and time again My messages were recited to you, but you turned arrogantly on your heels, and spent the evening making fun of [the Quran].’

(Surah Al Mu'minun Verses 62-67)

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Buraidah that his father said:

 عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ الَّذِي بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمُ الصَّلاَةُ فَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The covenant that stands between us and them is the Salah; whoever abandons it, he has committed disbelief.'"
