يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نُودِىَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوْمِ ٱلْجُمُعَةِ فَٱسْعَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِنكُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ( الجمعة: 9 )
O you who believe! When the call is made for prayer on Congregation Day ( Friday ), hasten to the remembrance of God, and drop all business. That is better for you, if you only knew.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: (إذا قلت لصاحبك: أنصت، يوم الجمعة والإمام يخطب، فقد لغوت) رواه البخاري ومسلم
Abu Hurayrah narrates that the Prophet PBUH said: “If you tell your companion to be quiet and listen on Friday when the imam is delivering the khutbah, you have engaged in idle talk.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (892).
