This year, the month of Muharram began on June 26, 2025. Muharram marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar and is one of the four sacred months in which fighting is prohibited. It is a time when believers are encouraged to increase their acts of worship and remembrance of Allah (SWT). During this blessed month, the rewards for good deeds are multiplied, and sins carry greater weight. Muharram serves as an opportunity to renew our taqwa, reset our hearts, and deepen our connection with Allah (SWT) through repentance, reflection, and sincere devotion.
The Day of Ashura, observed on the 10th of Muharram, is one of the most virtuous and spiritually significant days of the year. It marks the day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) at the Battle of Karbala. Ashura also commemorates the deliverance of Prophet Musa (AS) and the Children of Israel from Pharaoh’s oppression, a day of divine mercy and liberation. It is Sunnah to fast on Ashura, and it is recommended to also fast on the 9th of Muharram as well. If one is unable to fast on the 9th, fasting on the 11th of Muharram is another way to observe this Sunnah and complete the fast with distinction.

During June 2025, our community generously contributed $3,911.00 in zakat funds, from which we disbursed $11,122.55 to assist 10 families with rent, utilities, and other essential expenses. In addition, we collected $29,767.63 in general donations, including sadaqah and Eid collections. During this period, we spent $24,697.02 on masjid operations, covering regular expenses such as insurance, utilities, and cleaning, as well as costs associated with Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. We are grateful for your continued support, which enables us to serve both our congregation and those in need.
Dua for Gratitude:
اللهم إن شكرك نعمة، تستحق الشكر، فعلّمني كيف أشكرك ، الحمد لله كما ينبغى لجلال وجهك وعظيم سلطانك
"Oh Allah, thanking you is a blessing, you deserve all thankfulness. All praise is due to Allah the way He should his magnificence deserves to be praised."
