Job Opening: Per Diem Counselor (P/T) Student Health Center/Islamic Center

Position Summary

This counseling position serves the student community at the Islamic Center and is based there. Conduct clinical assessments with students to evaluate seriousness of presenting problems and develop appropriate treatment plans. Provide students with short-term psychotherapy, conduct group therapy, provide referrals for long-term treatment. Conduct risk assessments, manage high risk situations, utilize crisis intervention skills, and provide referrals and concrete resources.

**Hours:**14 hoursperweek

Qualifications

**Required Education:**LCSW, LMHC, PsyD, PhD in social work or Psychology.

**Required Experience:**Post-graduate experience in crisis response, college mental health, short-term counseling, and group therapy preferred. Experience working with diverse student populations required. Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience working with underrepresented populations including but not limited to Islamic and BIPOC identified individuals required. NY State license or eligibility (limited permit).

Additional Information

In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $60.
