Position Summary:
Employment Type: Part Time - 1099 Contractor
Eligibility: Must have valid US work authorization and must be fluent in English
The Sunday School Principal is responsible for the successful operation and continuous improvement of the IALFM Sunday School. This includes administrative leadership, volunteer coordination, curriculum oversight, and community engagement. The Principal will lead the Sunday School Committee, report to the Board of Directors for oversight, and coordinate with the Education Committee on academic programming.

Support and train a team of committed volunteers and instructors

Promote transparent communication with parents and the community

Maintain efficient operations and accountability systems
Core Responsibilities:
Administrative Leadership
-
Lead and coordinate the Sunday School Committee, delegating tasks for smooth operation
-
Schedule and facilitate regular committee meetings to plan and improve programs
-
Organize and manage Registration Day with the help of volunteers
Financial Management
-
Process tuition and other charges via MOHID
-
Maintain accurate financial records in coordination with the finance team
Curriculum & Academic Oversight
-
Oversee development and implementation of the curriculum for all five levels
-
Collaborate with instructors to design effective lesson plans and review academic progress
-
Track attendance, testing outcomes, and student performance
Volunteer & Staff Management
-
Recruit and register new and returning volunteers
-
Plan and conduct volunteer orientation and training sessions
-
Assign teachers and support staff to classrooms, ensuring continuity and adequate coverage

Oversee classroom setup and provide support during school sessions
Parent & Community Communication

Serve as the main point of contact for parents
-
Send regular communications via Mailchimp and WhatsApp
-
Clearly convey school policies, updates, and expectations
Operations & Technology
-
Maintain Sunday School office equipment (laptops, printers, internet devices)
-
Order, track, and maintain inventory of supplies
-
Update Sunday School content on the IALFM website
Event Planning
-
Plan and implement assemblies, competitions, Eid parties, and other school-wide events
-
Lead the Summer Camp program: curriculum, staffing, budgeting, and operations
Student Support & Facilities Oversight

Address student behavior and disciplinary concerns
-
Coordinate with masjid leadership for classroom setup, cleanliness, and facility needs
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in education, school administration, or community leadership (Islamic context preferred)
-
Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
-
Ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and build a positive learning environment
-
Familiarity with Islamic educational content and age-appropriate pedagogy
-
Proficiency in tools like Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and MOHID (training available)
