In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
November 5th, 2024
As-Salaamu `Alaykum Brothers, Sisters, and Friends,
Today, November 5th, is Election Day.
On behalf of the Islamic Society of West Valley (ISWV), we want to commend our dedicated community members who have participated in early voting. The turnout numbers, according to local and national organizations, look promising, but we need them to be much higher today. Its essential for all local Muslim voters to show up on Election Day and make our voices heard.
We understand that many of you may feel disillusioned and frustrated about current events affecting people around the world, including the situation in Gaza. We share those feelings. However, sitting on the sidelines of this election will not help anyone in need. Elected officials take our community seriously when we actively participate in the political process, especially by exercising our right to vote.
No matter who you support, showing up to vote demonstrates our political strength. Local Muslim votes matter. Thats why so many local candidates have made efforts in recent weeks and months to connect with our community.
Remember that the local races are just as important as any other on the ballot. No matter who you support for local offices, make sure you vote in all races, from city councils to school boards to state legislative positions.
Today, lets harness the political power of our community by voting and encouraging our family, friends, and neighbors to head to the polls. Vote for the sake of yourself, your families, your neighbors, and your fellow community members who are affected by local policies.

Election Day is today, Nov. 5th. Do not miss this opportunity to make your voice heard. May God reward you, and may God guide our community towards justice and compassion.
Sincerely,
Islamic Society of West Valley
