Assalaam Alaikoum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
InShaa Allah, the ISNRV will hold its Annual General Body Meeting on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 2:30 PM. The meeting will take place in Masjid Al-Ihsan, 1284 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA. All Muslims (members of ISNRV and non-members as well) are invited.
Meeting agenda:

The Executive Board and standing committees present annual reports.

Election of President and Vice President.
The ISNRV Executive Board is composed of three (3) persons: The President, the Vice President, and the Treasurer. Drs. Idris Adjerid and Hassan Fayed are the current President and Vice President, and Dr. Saher Lahouar is the Treasurer.
The elected President and Vice-President serve for a period of one (1) year. The Treasurer is appointed by the Shura Council and approved by the ISNRV members. Therefore, in this meeting elections will be conducted to fill the positions of the President and Vice President.
The ISNRV Board of Trustees is composed of four (4) elected members. Sister Afek Jaballah, Drs. Slimane Adjerid, Mazen Hasan, and Saad Ragab are the current Board of Trustees. The four Trustees and three Executives are the seven members of the ISNRV Shura Council.
With this email, I kindly ask you to send Dr. Saher Lahouar (saher.lahouar@gmail.com), Chair of the Election Committee, nominations for the
President and Vice President. They will be nominated as one ticket and elected with a single voting. Please communicate first with the person whom you want to nominate for president and ask him or her to select the VP. Submit nominations only if the nominated persons have indicated to you that they are willing to serve in the capacity they are nominated for if elected.
Nominations will be accepted until Sunday, November 3, 2024. Please refer to ISNRV Bylaws posted on the isnrv.org webpage for more details about eligibility to serve as President or Vice President.
Voting at ISNRV elections should be done in-person at the meeting. In case a Member expects to be unable to attend the meeting, he or she may vote by giving a proxy statement. Voting by proxy is available only to members who are residents of the New River Valley (NRV). The Proxy statement must include the complete home address of the member. The signed proxy statement authorizes another member to cast votes on behalf of the member who is unable to attend the meeting. A blank proxy form is attached with this email. The statement must be given to the Chair of the Election Committee prior to voting.
A proxy statement is not required for a member who is attending the meeting to cast the two votes for his/her family.
Important Dates:
To be eligible to vote at the Annual meeting, new members must join on or before October 11, 2024, and ongoing members are required to renew their membership on or before October 31, 2024. Please check membership status,
