Quran
Surely, in the alternation of night and day and in what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are signs for a people who are God-fearing.
(Surah Yunus, ayah 6)
Ponder. Reflect. Be inspired. You will find God in all things.
Hadith
'Abdullah bin Salam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah () saying,
"O people, exchange greetings of peace (i.e., say: As-Salamu 'Alaikum to one another), feed people, strengthen the ties of kinship, and be in prayer when others are asleep, you will enter Jannah in peace."
(Riyad as-Salihin 848, Book 5, Hadith 5)
The four keys to Paradise outlined in this Hadith are simple: spread Salaam, feed others, strengthen family ties and pray at night. Jannah is within reach. Nurture these habits and you will not only improve your character but feed your soul. May Allah accept all our efforts - Ameen!

Showing Love for Our Neighbors
Laura El Alam
In Islam, neighbors are not just the people who live nearby strangers whose mail we occasionally receive by accident or whose pets or children sometimes run into our yard. Our neighbors have rights on us, and Allah commands us to be kind to them:
Serve God, and join not any partners with Him; and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are near, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess.
(Surah An-Nisa, 4:36)
When asked what the rights of the neighbor are, the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him, answered:
The least of a neighbors rights on [a Muslim] is that if he asks him for a loan he should grant it to him. If he asks for help, he should help him. If he wants to borrow something from him, he should lend it to him. If he needs him to donate something to him, he should do so. If he invites him, he should accept his invitation. If he gets sick, he should go and visit him. If he passes away, he should attend his funeral procession.
(Mustadrak al-Wasail, v.2, p.79)
In many parts of the world today, though, neighbors barely get to know each other. Advances in technology and changes to lifestyle mean that fewer people are socializing with the folks who live on their streets. Instead of shopping in local stores and frequenting corner cafes, many people nowadays have their goods, clothes, and meals delivered to their door. Rather than playing outside with neighbors, many children entertain themselves indoors or participate in extracurricular activities outside of their neighborhood. In addition to all this, perhaps more than ever before, there is a general mistrust of strangers that dissuades people from knocking on each others doors to even introduce themselves. As a result, some people dont get to know a single neighbor, and ties of trust and kindness that should exist among community members are absent.
Despite all this, there are Muslims here and abroad who are honoring the Islamic tradition of cultivating a positive relationship with their neighbors. In many cases, the people next door are non-Muslims, so the acts of kindness are doubly impactful; they are pleasing Allah while also demonstrating that Muslims are generous, trustworthy, responsible, and caring.
For this article, I interviewed several Muslims around the world. They shared the ways they are showing love to their neighbors. Their stories are inspirational and encourage the rest of us to make more efforts to show love and respect to the people who live around us.

Swiss Cheese Nutrition Facts
Swiss cheese is a popular type of cheese that is known for its distinctive appearance, characterized by its holes or "eyes." It is a popular cheese variety enjoyed worldwide and is particularly associated with Switzerland. However, it is also produced in other countries like France and the United States.
Swiss cheese is typically made from cow's milk, although there are variations made from goat's or sheep's milk.

Characteristics of Swiss cheese
Swiss cheese is characterized by its large, round holes or eyes that are scattered throughout the cheese. The eyes are formed during the cheese-making process when carbon dioxide gas produced by bacteria gets trapped and create bubbles. However, the size and distribution of holes can vary depending on aging process.
Swiss cheese has a mild, nutty, and slightly sweet flavor. It has a semi-hard to hard texture, depending on the age of the cheese. Young Swiss cheese tends to be softer and more pliable, while aged Swiss cheese becomes firmer and crumbly.
Varieties: Besides the traditional Swiss cheese, there are several variations and similar cheeses. Examples include Gruyre (a firm, slightly salty Swiss cheese), Jarlsberg (a Norwegian version of Swiss cheese), and Tilsit (a semi-hard cheese with smaller holes). Each variation has its own distinct characteristics.
Production of Swiss cheese:
- Swiss cheese is typically made from pasteurized cow's milk, although there are variations made from goat's or sheep's milk.
- Milk is heated and starter cultures and rennet are added to the pasteurized milk causing them to form a solid mass called curds.
- Once the curds have formed, they are cut into small pieces to release more whey (liquid portion). The curds are then heated or "cooked" to a specific temperature, which helps expel additional whey and contributes to the texture and flavor development of the cheese.
- The whey is drained off, leaving behind the curds. The curds are typically transferred to large molds lined with cheesecloth to further drain off excess whey and pressed for several hours to compact the curds and give the cheese its characteristic round shape.
- After pressing, the cheese wheels are submerged in a brine solution, which helps to enhance the flavor, preserve the cheese, and create a rind on the surface.
Aging Swiss cheese
Following brining, Swiss cheese is moved to special cheese caves or aging rooms. During the aging process, the cheese wheels are stored at controlled temperatures and humidity levels. This stage can last several weeks to several months, or even years, depending on the desired flavor and texture. The aging process contributes to the development of the cheese's distinctive holes and nutty flavor.
