Quran
And be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity: And whatever good you send forth for your souls before you, you shall find it with Allah: for Allah sees Well all that you do.
(Al-Baqarah, Verse 110)
Hadith
Anas bin Malik (RA) narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever has dried dates, then let him break the fast with that, and whoever does not, then let him break the fast with water, for indeed water is purifying."
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Book 8, Hadith 13)
We break our fast with what is the Sunnah and what is tayyab. The dates provide us with energy and nutrition while also being succulent and sweet tasting too. And if there are no dates, then pure water is enough. Alhamdulillah for the simplicity and beauty of our deen!

9 Steps to Beautify Your Prayers
Umm Ahmed
Salah or prayer, is a special form of obligatory worship for Muslims. Taken into retrospect it can be seen as a journey of seeking a deeper connection with Allah, yet many of us grapple with maintaining that profound sense of khushu or consciousness in it, throughout. It's almost as if we're constantly striving to anchor ourselves in devotion, only to find ourselves drifting away at times. And perhaps, if we're honest, most of us would admit to experiencing this struggle. But here's the thing; acknowledging this struggle is not a sign of weakness, but rather a testament to our humanity and our sincere desire to draw closer to our Creator.
Fulfilling the Purpose of Prayer
According to a narration from Abu Hurairah, Allah's beloved Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
The first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his Salah. If it is found to be complete then it will be recorded as complete, and if anything is lacking He will say: 'Look and see if you can find any voluntary prayers with which to complete what he neglected of his obligatory prayers.' Then the rest of his deeds will be reckoned in like manner.
(Sunan An-Nasa'i)
As believers, it is crucial to acknowledge that Allah, the Almighty, deserves our utmost beauty and excellence in all aspects, including worship. It is He alone who is worthy of our sincerest efforts to adorn ourselves inwardly and outwardly when we stand before Him in prayer. That said, it's important not to become disheartened by occasional imperfections as these errors remind us of our humanity before Him. Instead, we should view these moments as opportunities for self-reflection and growth.
Here are some useful tips on how to attain Khushu in Salah, to help enrich our spiritual journey, foster fulfillment, and deepen our connection with Allah, to maximize our rewards and blessings.
1. Perform our prayers with proper etiquette.
Performing our prayers with proper etiquette involves more than just the physical act of prayer; it encompasses a holistic approach to worship that reflects our reverence and devotion to Allah. This includes observing rituals such as performing wudu or ablution accurately and dressing modestly, which symbolize our readiness to stand before the Divine in humility and purity. By meticulously adhering to these rituals, we demonstrate our respect for the sanctity of the act of worship and convey our utmost sincerity to the One we are worshiping.

Adzuki Beans Nutrition Facts
Adzuki beans (Chinese red beans) () are the leguminous fruit pods of a plant originally from Asia. The beans occupy a significant cultural importance in oriental cuisine. The red-colored beans were believed to have the effect of suppressing negative emotions and bad luck.
Binomially, red beans belongs to the Fabaceae family, in the genus: Vigna.
Scientific name: Vigna angularis
Chinese red beans (Adzuki).
Adzuki bean is an herbaceous annual. It has similar climate and soil requirements as soybeans. About two months after seedling, the plant produces yellow flowers, which develop into elongated, cylindrical, smooth-skinned pods in clusters in the next 40 days.
Adzuki bean pods hold tiny seeds that are brownish-red but can also be black, light yellow, or gray. They can be plain or variegated and have a prominent white hilum (the ridge where the bean was connected to the pod).
Boiled beans feature a nutty, buttery texture and sweet flavor.
Health benefits of Adzuki beans
-
Adzuki beans are one of the important sources of plant-based proteins. 100g beans hold 329 calories and provide 19.87 g or 35% of the recommended daily allowance of protein.
-
Red vigna beans contain antioxidants such as isoflavones and pro-anthocyanidins in ample amounts. The total value of isoflavones is 0.59 mg per 100 grams of beans; daidzein and genistein at levels 0.36 mg and 0.23 mg respectively. Isoflavones have been found to reduce post-menopausal cancers and osteoporosis.
-
Like other legumes, adzuki beans contain lots of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber works as a bulk laxative that helps to protect the colon mucosa by decreasing its exposure time to toxic substances as well as by binding to cancer-causing chemicals in the colon. Dietary fiber has also been shown to reduce blood cholesterol levels by decreasing the reabsorption of cholesterol-binding bile acids in the colon.
-
Plant sterols (phytosterols) especially -sitosterol that help lower cholesterol levels in the body.
-
Fresh, as well as dry adzuki are one of the finest sources of folates. They carry more of this vitamin than lima, soy or fava beans. 100 g dry, mature beans provide 622 g or 155% of folates.
-
Folate, along with vitamin B-12, is one of the essential co-factors for DNA synthesis and cell division. Adequate folate in the diet around conception and during pregnancy may help prevent neural tube defects in the newborn baby.
