ISCV Board Elections
Dear community members, the ISCV Board Elections will be held soon, and several positions are available. It is not only an honor to serve on the Board, but a responsibility upon us to take care of our Muslim community in Charlottesville.
Available Positions:
Chairperson The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees shall supervise all business of the corporation, preside at all meetings of the Board of Trustees, ensure the execution of the decisions by the Board of Trustees, and take any and all necessary action to protect the interests of ISCV.
Treasurer The Treasurer of the Board of Trustees shall manage all funds, financial affairs, financial records, and securities of the corporation, and preside over the finance committee if formed.
Youth Coordinator The Coordinator for Youth and Student Affairs should foster interaction between students studying in Charlottesville or Albemarle County and ISCV, and promote activities for youth in the community in coordination with the Activities Coordinator.
Activities Coordinator The Activities Coordinator of the Board of Trustees shall organize or approve all activities inside the Masjid, provide speakers for Friday prayers, and take responsibility for all ISCV sanctioned Daawah related activities. It is highly preferred that the Activities Coordinator is capable of leading the Jumaa Prayers in case the scheduled speaker could not make it.
Please use this link to nominate yourself or others. Those who are nominated should be ISCV members, and the position's term is two years. We will be taking nominations until next Friday, May 24th and then will be holding elections after the nominees have accepted the nominations on June 1st , insha'Allah.
We are also accepting applications for officers, who will assist board members in their duties. The officer's responsibility will be to help the board member to whom they are assigned. Officers are non-voting and are not required to attend board meetings. Those who are interested can reply directly to this email.
