Ramadan, Rafah, and Restoration of our Iman!
Dear community members,
As we all know, Ramadan is the most anticipated time for all of us Muslims to maximize the Ibadat and collect blessings from Allah S.W.T. However, very sadly, we are marching towards Ramadan with more trials and tribulations for our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Our eyes are on Rafah, our hands are lifted in Dua, and our hearts are filled with sorrow. We continue to pray to Allah for ease, for peace, and for his protection. We continue to hold firm on our Iman that there is a plan that He is aware of, and that He is in full control.
As this Genocide continues to be unjustly funded, we want to remind you all to proudly claim your identity as Muslims and peace loving citizens of the U.S., educate yourself, and get involved responsibly and peacefully in sharing your perspective to hold authorities accountable to act ethically, morally, and humanely. One of the most influential ways is to participate in civic engagement activities at all levels (local, state, national) to raise awareness and call for justice, ceasefire, and peace for all, see more resources here: CAIR - Toolkit on promoting Gaza Ceasefire Resolutions.
Continue donating to the charities of your choice as one of the major humanitarian aid organizations that is working for Palestinians is now under pressure and blockade. Gazans need every bit of support that they can get in terms of water, food, and medical supplies.
And finally, and most importantly, continue to make dua. It is our Iman, as Muslims, that Allah knows exactly what is going on, he is revealing faces and realities to us, and he is giving all of us and our non-Muslim neighbors an opportunity to be on the right side of history. With our actions, we are paving the way for future generations of Western Muslims in years to come, to stand with what is right, moral, and just - an equal opportunity to live and dream - for all humans on earth!
May Allah forgive us all, accept the martyrs of Gaza in the highest ranks of Jannah, and empower us to fulfill our duties as the Ummah of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
With gratitude,
Your community at Islamic Society of Boston.
