As Salaamu Alaykum dear beloved ISBCC Community,

I wanted to share with you five thoughts that are going to steer you
in the right direction pertaining to this new year. As a Muslim, we need
to heed the following directions!

#1. Conduct full accountability on yourself. Think about situations and
scenarios that you'll find growth (mentally, spiritually, financially etc) and
mark everything that you came short in the past year in order to gain the
treasures of Allah that are in store for you. Remember Allah says the
following in the Quran ( ) [Allah would
never change a peoples state of favor until they change their own state
of faith] Surah Ar-Ra'd, 11.

#2. Better your connections with Allah. All of us want Allah to be on our side!
However, we tend to forget what causes Allah to come on our side. That is a
big mistake. If you want Allah to be with you, you need to present yourself to
Allah. ( ) [He is with you wherever you are.
For Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.] Surah Hadid, 4.

#3. Increase your good deeds. One of the top echelons of attaining piety and
righteousness as a Muslim, is to conduct oneself with good deeds. The better
you conduct yourself in words and deeds, the better you are with Allah. In the
mouth of the believing man from the people of Pharaoh Allah quotes that it is
among the things that will allow anyone to enter Heaven. Allah said these
[ ]
(Whoever does an evil deed will only be paid back with its equivalent. And whoever
does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, they will enter Paradise, where
they will be provided for without limit.) Surah Ghafir, 40.

#4. Run away from disobedience. Another very important decision that we need
to meet is that we should run away from all acts of disobedience and back to Allah
with a sound mind and heart. That will give us a way out of our problems and better
our rank with Allah. [ ] (So proclaim, O  Prophet: Flee to Allah!
I am truly sent by Him with a clear warning to you.) Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 50.

#5. Make a commitment to Allah. Changing your ways and means will always require
strong will power and decision making process that withstands all heavy winds of Satan
and the self. This means that your [ ] decision to stop all sins
and disobedience is the single thing that will benefit you with an identity and recognition
with Allah. Do it, Insha'Allah you'll succeed.
