Dhu Al-Hijjah
Assalam Alaikum Dear Beloved Community,
May peace and blessings be upon you. We express our gratitude to Allah for granting us the opportunity to enter the auspicious month of Dhul-Hijjah, commencing on June 7th 2024.
T he Day of Arafah falls on Saturday, June 15th.
Eid Al-Adha follows on Sunday, June 16th.
During the initial ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, Allah has bestowed upon them great significance, elevating their status and swearing an oath upon them. They stand as the pinnacle of the Muslim calendar, marked by sanctity and honor. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) himself revered these days, urging his followers to follow his Sunnah and try to do the following during these 10 days:
1. Fasting: Endeavor to fast during the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah. If unable, aim to fast on the Day of Arafah (Saturday, June 15th).
2. Charity: Increase your acts of generosity and Sadaqa (voluntary charity).
3. Good Deeds: Engage in more acts of general goodness and righteousness.
4. Forgiveness: Pardon those who have wronged you, seeking reward from Allah.
5. Supplication: Dedicate ample time each day to Du'aa (prayer) and remember others in your prayers.
6. Sacrifice: Perform Udhiya/Qurbani to provide sustenance to the less fortunate.
If engaging in Udhiya, refrain from trimming your hair or nails throughout these ten days, in accordance with the recommended practice. Let us embrace these sacred days with sincerity and devotion, seeking the pleasure and mercy of Allah.
May Allah make your Dul-Hijjah a month of Forgiveness, Freeing from Hell, and a way of Repentance, Ameen!
JAK!
