Free Community Event for Black History Month!
Assalamualaikum,
We are so excited for this Friday's upcoming event, Black Heroes of Islam, Feb. 16th at 7:45pm here at ISB, featuring the stories of Prophet Luqman (AS), Zayd bin Haaritha (RA), Bilal (RA), Umm Ayman (RA), and Malcolm X! The event is free to all, no registration required.
February is Black History Month, and in recognition of the fact that Black history is an integral and intimate part of American history, here at ISB we are excited by this opportunity to examine and appreciate the enormous contributions of the African American (Black) community and particularly those African American Muslims who have shaped American history and the growth of Islam in America.
This month, were recognizing Black history in a variety of ways at the masjid and at Al-Rahmah School, and were especially excited for the upcoming event Black Heroes of Islam!
On Feb. 16th, join the community for an exciting discussion on amazing Black historical figures in Islam. Delve into their lives and learn about the contributions of these great inspirations at this free community event.
