On Jan. 12, 2024, the Record Courier and Akron Beacon Journal published ISAK Intern Youssra Abdrabous article about raising awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

With the alarming rate of deaths, injuries, and critical shortages of food, water, and medical supplies, Youssra calls on Muslims and people of all faiths to speak up for the humanity of the Palestinian people, urging representatives to support a ceasefire. This article reflects on the teachings of Islam that emphasize standing up for justice, compassion, and the well-being of all people as well as the universal commitment to uphold humanitarian values, encouraging people to extend their humanity beyond borders.

Join Chagrin Valley Islamic Center in a meeting focusing on creating open communication and building familiarity with federal and local law enforcement leadership. The objective is to secure commitments from both federal and local law enforcement leaders to engage with the community on future issues and incidents, providing guarantees of collaboration.

Prophets of Islam

Join Akron Muslimahs in their upcoming discussion on the lives of the first two Prophets in the Quran, Prophet Adam (AS) and Idris (AS). Women in the community are invited to engage in a thoughtful reflection upon the prophets stories, reflecting on the rich narratives and lessons from their lives.

The National Lego Day celebration invites attendees to watch a Lego movie and partake in building small projects from provided kits. Each participant will receive a kit to create their own project and can contribute to a larger collective project. In addition, snacks will be available. This event offers a laid-back and enjoyable experience for all.

Founded by Nazma Khan in 2013, World Hijab Day is observed in over 140 countries on February 1st.
