On Jan. 12, 2024, the Record Courier and Akron Beacon Journal published ISAK Intern Youssra Abdrabous article about raising awareness about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

With the alarming rate of deaths, injuries, and critical shortages of food, water, and medical supplies, Youssra calls on Muslims and people of all faiths to speak up for the humanity of the Palestinian people, urging representatives to support a ceasefire. This article reflects on the teachings of Islam that emphasize standing up for justice, compassion, and the well-being of all people as well as the universal commitment to uphold humanitarian values, encouraging people to extend their humanity beyond borders.
