KSU MSA Presidents Published Article

Sr. Ramah Kassis, ISAK community member and president of Kent States Muslim Students Association (MSA), recently had her article published on the Record-Courier. She highlights the importance of community support and giving back as Islam teaches us to do.

Through initiatives such as organizing donation boxes and hosting iftars during Ramadan, Sr. Ramah and the Kent State MSA build unity and understanding while helping those in need. Her article emphasizes the lessons she has learned through her service and her efforts to create understanding and inspire positive change within the community.

ICAN Bike Camp Volunteering

The Autism Society of Greater Akron seeks volunteers for its 2024 iCan Bike Camp at Jackson High School, anticipating 40 riders and requiring 80 volunteers. This opportunity is suitable for those interested in fitness or working with individuals with disabilities. Volunteers will assist riders by walking or lightly jogging beside them to aid in balance and offer support throughout the week.

A commitment to a five-day session is preferred, with multiple session times available. Training and a shirt will be provided, and prior experience with disabilities is not necessary. High school students can earn community service hours by volunteering for one or two sessions per day, along with attending orientation. To sign up, individuals can complete the Volunteer Registration Form above.
