"Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good."
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we gather to celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid ul Adha, I extend my warmest greetings to you and your families on behalf of the Board, members, and staff of Majlis Ash-Shura of NY. This Eid is a time of immense joy and gratitude, marking the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage and honoring the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice for the sake of Allah.
Eid ul Adha is a reminder of our own responsibilities to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity. As we reflect on the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), let us remember to extend our hands to those in need, sharing our blessings with the less fortunate and strengthening the bonds within our community.
In the spirit of Eid, we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world who are facing challenges and hardships, particularly those in Palestine and other regions affected by conflict. Our prayers and support are with them, and we strive to be a source of hope and assistance.
Let us take this opportunity to renew our commitment to living by the principles of our faith, fostering a community of empathy, generosity, and harmony. May this Eid bring you and your loved ones peace, happiness, and prosperity.
May Allah accept our sacrifices, prayers, and good deeds. Eid Mubarak!
Sincerely,
Abdelhafid Djemil, PhD
