Eid Mubarak: Unity, Reflection, and Solidarity - A Message from Majlis Ash-Shura of NY

Assalamualikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Today is April 9, 2024/ 30 Ramadan, 1445
"The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful."
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we unite to celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families on behalf of the Board, members, and staff of Majlis Ash-Shura of NY. This Eid marks completion, reflection, and gratitude after the holy month of Ramadan. It's a time to cherish peace, share our fortunes through Zakat, and strengthen the unbreakable bonds within our community.
In the midst of our celebrations, let us not forget our brothers and sisters in Palestine and other regions facing immense adversity. We stand in unwavering solidarity with them, praying for their safety, peace, justice, and relief from their hardships. Our collective prayers and support are a testament to our deep empathy and the strength of our global Ummah.
Let us take this time to reflect on the lessons learned during Ramadan and commit to living by them throughout the coming year. Together, we can forge a path of righteousness, compassion, and unity, Insha Allah.
May Allah accept your fasting, prayers, and supplications and bring you joy, prosperity, and serenity this Eid. May Allah's blessings be upon you and your loved ones. Eid Mubarak to you all.
