Urge a NYC Council Ceasefire Resolution

Today is 27 February, 2024 / 17 Sha'baan, 1445
Dear Members,
Majlis Ash-shura (Islamic Leadership Council) of NY invites and encourages you to participate (even if 10 minutes) in the 24-hour vigil for the martyrs of Gaza. The vigil will take place at the City Hall Plaza (Centre St.) in Manhattan, starting at 10:00 AM tomorrow (Wed, Feb. 28) with a press conference. At 12:00 PM, we will start reading the names of the 30,000 martyrs in Gaza until 10:00 AM the next morning (Thu, Feb. 29).
This is part of the effort to urge the NYC Council to issue a ceasefire resolution to end the Israeli genocide of the people of Gaza. The vigil is a family-friendly event and there will be lawyers from the National Lawyers Guild monitoring for the duration. Additionally, Muslim prayer arrangements are included in the timeline below.
The people of Gaza have been enduring an Israeli genocide for the past 5 months, after enduring a 17-year siege by Israel. The least we can do is to show up even if for only 10 minutes. You can attend at any time from 10:00 AM tomorrow (Wed, Feb.28) till 10:00 AM the next morning (Thu, Feb. 29).
