Fifth Debate on Belief and Unbelief: Does Cognitive Science Undermine

The Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (ICCNC) will hold its fifth debate titled Does cognitive science undermine religious belief? on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM (Los Angeles Time). Dr. Kelly James Clark and Dr. John Wathey will participate in the debate. Dr. Yaser Mirdamadi moderates this debate.

The purpose of these debates is to broaden and deepen the general publics understanding of religion in the 21st century. The general theme of the debate series is Belief and Unbelief in a Post-Secular Era.

The debate will be live-streamed on Zoom and on ICCNC's YouTube Channel.

Please join us for the Sixth Book of Masnavi lectures in Farsi by Dr. Abdolkarim Soroush this Sunday at 11:00 PST.

The lectures will be held via Zoom and ICCNC YouTube Channel. For Zoom, please click here to register for the lecture series. Attendees register once and can attend any of the occurrences.

• Friday Prayer, Feb. 23 at 12:30 PM - Please join us for Friday Prayers at ICCNC starting at 12:30 PM. The Friday prayer sermons (Khutba) will be live-streamed via both Zoom Meeting and ICCNC YouTube Channel.

• Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 10 AM - Cook, pack, and distribute food to the unhoused and those experiencing food insecurity in Oakland. Those who are interested in volunteering for this cause, please contact Ms. Suzaun Hirbod at [email protected].
