Dhul-Hijjah Important Dates
The best ten days of the year are among us! The Prophet said, "No good deeds are better than what is done in these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah." (Bukhari 969) In sha Allah the first day of Dhul-Hijjah is Friday, June 7 meaning Eid Al-Adha will be on Sunday, June 16.
It is recommended to fast during the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, especially on the Day of 'Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah). The Prophet was asked about the fasting of the day of Arafah and he said, "It will expiate the sins of the previous and upcoming years." (Muslim 1162)
If you are offering Qurbani (sacrificing) this year, it is best not to cut your hair or trim your nails starting from Maghrib tonight until Eid Al-Adha after the sacrifice has been offered.
Make lots of dhikr (remembrance) of Allah during these ten days and increase in good deeds such as prayer, reading Qur'an, and charity.
Here is a Yaqeen Insitute article on 11 things to do first in these 10 days. Click here.
May Allah accept all of our good deeds in these days.
Eid al- Adha will be Sunday, June 16
