MLK Interfaith Event
**Sunday, January 14, 2024 ~ 3:00 pm
Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Congregation**
9601 Cedar Lane Bethesda, MD 20814
From Cedar Lane:
We would be honored to have you and your community join us to commemorate the life and prophetic legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 3 PM, as together we join our communities in prayer and recommit ourselves to living into Dr. King's vision of the Beloved Community, "an interconnected, interdependent "world house in which we have to live together black and white, Easterner and Westerner, Gentile and Jew, Catholic and Protestant, Muslim and Hindu - a family unduly separated in ideas, culture and interest, who, because we can never again live apart, must learn somehow to live with each other in peace." The service will be in held our sanctuary and live-streamed on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJJdmfdYbmM).
We are excited to welcome U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin and interfaith leaders - Rev. Anne Derse, Rabbi David Shneyer, Imam Refai Arefin, and Rev. Bill Sinkford - to our pulpit this year! The service will also be graced by musical offerings from Fariduddin Johnson, Aaron Shneyer, the Cedar Lane Choir, and classical Indian dance by Neha Srinivasan.
*Both Imam Refai and Dr. Tarek feel this i an important event for the community to attend, insha'Allah. Please join them and show your support!
