Forgiveness - A Divine Command in Islam!
Again, Let's Forgive One Another!
Dear ICCD Community Members,
Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
As we enter the last ten days of Ramadan, a period of immense spiritual significance, I wish to remind myself and all of you of the profound importance of forgiveness during these blessed days.
These final days are our opportunity to seek Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree), a night better than a thousand months, where our worship and supplications are amplified. It is a time for soul searching, evaluating ones life, supplicating, and asking for forgiveness.
Let us use this time to cleanse our hearts of grudges and malice. Let us forgive not only those who have wronged us but also seek forgiveness from those we may have wronged. Forgiveness is a gift that frees the heart, and in doing so, we emulate the mercy of Allah, who is Al-Ghaffar, The Oft-Forgiving.
The act of forgiving is not always easy, but it is always worth the peace it brings to our hearts and the unity it fosters within our community. As we strive for Allahs forgiveness, let us also extend it to each other, for the best among us are those who begin with peace and reconciliation.
May these last ten days of Ramadan be a time of spiritual renewal and communal harmony for all of us. May we emerge from this blessed month with hearts purified by fasting, nights illuminated by prayer, and souls enriched by forgiveness.
Ramadan Mubarak!
With warm regards,
Imad Achmar
