Subject: ONTARIO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS RATING BY THE FRASER INSTITUTE FOR THE YEAR 2023
Dear Brothers/Sisters,
Assalamoalaikum & Ramadan Mubarak. We sincerely hope you are doing well along with your family members. The intent of this communication is to keep in touch and share fabulous news about our school with you.
The annual Fraser Institute ranking for 2023 was released yesterday, grading 2975 Elementary Schools in Ontario. It is an honour to state that the International School of Cambridge, run by the Islamic Centre of Cambridge (ICC), was rated the best amongst all Ontario Elementary Schools, being the number one school along with 13 other top schools.
Please accept our heartiest c****ongratulations. Mashallah this is the second time since the year 2017 that our school was ranked #1 in the Province. We had a brief celebration during this mornings school assembly.
We appreciate the efforts of the Principal, teachers, school staff and everyone involved in the school operations. At present we have over 300 students, 17 teachers including the Principal, one office administrator, and a custodian. The demand has been increasing steadily, but the school may not be able to enroll all applicants due to an acute shortage of classrooms. Preliminary plans have been made with an architects input, but we have been unable to build due to lack of funds. Projects for a Jami Mosque extension, new High School classrooms, and school extension were personally presented to the officials in Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in November 2023. There hasnt been any response so far.
We also started up a fully licensed daycare on Feb 5th, 2024 with 39 children and 7 staff members including a Daycare Supervisor. This was a most needed and long-awaited project. Besides our regular programs we also have well-attended regular halaqas by highly educated & experienced scholars alhamdolillah.
I would like to assure you on behalf of the ICC Board members that we are doing our best to run the organization in the best way. Alhamdolillah with your support and trust, the ICC has now become a well-known community entity in this Region, as well as in all of Canada, known throughout the world for its work and accomplishments.
