Janaza Prayer For Brother
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barkatuh,
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing away of Brother Omar Mohammed Abu Alia, at the age of 62 years. He is the uncle of our long term Arabic School teacher Dema Abu Alia. He was a well respected member of our community. He is survived by his Brothers Emad, Abdulfatah, Abdulnaser, Ali, Abdullah (who also is a long community member), and 3 sisters. We ask Allah to forgive him, shower him with mercy and grant patience to his family.
Janaza prayer will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024**,** after Thuhur Prayer around 12:30pm at Masjed Assaber**. He will be** buried at the Islamic cemetery of Oregon in Corvallis**.**
We ask you to make duaa for him and his family.
We encourage everyone to attend the Janaza Prayer and make Dua’a for our brother. There is a great reward in doing so. In a confirmed Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), he stated: "Whoever observes (Witnesses/attends) the funeral proceedings until the prayer is performed, then with one carat, and whoever observes (witnesses/attends) it until it is buried, then he with two carats, then he (i.e. prophet Muhammad -pbuh-) was asked and what is a Carat, he stated they are two great mountains of Hassanat (good deeds)."

Transliteration of Duaa for Deceased Male
After the third takbeera, you say "Allahuma eghfir li hayina wa mayitana, wa shahadena wa gha'ibina, wa saghirena wa kabirena, wa thakarena wa unthana, Allahuma man Ahyaytaho minna fa'ahyehe ala al'islam, wa man tawfiyataho minna fa tawafaho ala al'iman , Allahma eghfir lah, wa erhamho, wa aafihi, wa o'fo anhu, wa a'kram nuzolao, wa wasa'e modkhalaho, wa eghsilho bialma'e wa lthalji wal barad, wa naqihi min alkhataya kama yunaqaa althawbo al'abyado mina aldanas, Allahuma Abdilho daran khyran min dawrehi, w ahlan khyran min ahlihi, Allahuma 'adkhilho aljanata, wa a'ethaho min a'thab alqabri wa min a'thab alnaari, wa efsah laho fi qabrihi wa anir laho feehi. Allahuma la tahrimna 'ajraho wa la tadhilana ba'dahu, wa eghfir lana walahu. Allahuma eghfir laho, wa thabbitho bialqawli althaabit"
Translation of A prayer for the deceased man
When supplicating after the third takbeera of Janaza Prayer, you say “ Oh Allah, forgive our living and our dead, our present and our absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. Oh Allah, whoever you let live from us, let them live on Islam and whoever you take away, let him die on the faith. Oh Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, honor his abode, expand his entrance, wash him with water, snow and hail, and cleanse him of sins as a white garment is purified of impurities. Oh Allah, replace his house with a better house, reward with a better family. Oh Allah, let him in your paradise, and relief him of the grave punishment, relieve him from the punishment of hell, expand his grave and provide him with light. Oh Allah do not deprive us of his reward, do not let us be misled after him, and forgive us and him. Oh Allah, forgive him, and reward him with firm words."
