Assalam Alaikum
Dear Community Members,

Recently several Pittsburgh houses of worship, including ICP, have received threatening emails from unknown sources. The local police and other investigating authorities have been notified and are investigating this incident. The Board and Staff of ICP is taking this and all threats seriously, and consequently will be implementing some changes that will affect you. Here is an outline of our response:

We remind everyone that firearms are not permitted inside ICP. Please leave them secured in your vehicle or at home, as we do not have the capacity to store them upon entry.

We have hired armed security guards to be present for Salat Ul Jummah.

We seek to limit book bags and back packs that are brought into the building, so please do not bring them if possible. Additionally, we will begin spot-inspecting bags.

We will keep all exterior doors locked moving forward. You are all encouraged to purchase key-fobs which will give regular access to the mosque.

Security measures for Sunday School and other ICP programs will be increased.

We will update and notify our staff and community members about active threat responses and building evacuation procedures.

We will introduce a series of safety training for the community in the month of May. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days.

We ask the community to help us with the measures put forth and help us keep everyone safe. Please report any suspicious activities to staff and board members.
